18+ notice: This guide is about adult websites and is intended only for readers aged 18 or over.
BongaCams and Chaturbate are adult (18+) live cam platforms that both launched in the early 2010s. Both let you watch for free and both run on tokens, but the public information about them differs: the Chaturbate sources describe tips and private shows, while the official BongaModels performer FAQ lists per-minute show formats with default rates. This guide sticks to what public sources say, with no scores, and every claim is backed by a source listed at the end.
The short answer
- Chaturbate suits you if you want to watch without signing up: according to Wikipedia, registration is optional and everything except private shows is free to watch.
- BongaCams suits you if you expect to pay for shows and want documented rates: group, private, full-private and spy shows each have a default rate in Tokens per minute.
- Either one works for tip-activated toys, since Lovense lists both among its integrated cam sites.
- CamVela is an option if you only want to browse free public streams without an account. It's a directory, not a cam platform.

Free viewing
Chaturbate. According to Wikipedia, registration is optional and viewers can watch for free, except for private shows. Separately from sign-up, Chaturbate may ask some visitors to verify their age first: Wikipedia and FOX 7 Austin report that it adopted age verification after a 2024 Texas lawsuit. Viewers can tip in tokens to request certain acts. The sources don't document any time limit on free viewing.
BongaCams. The public chat room is free: the official model FAQ tells performers they earn there only when members tip. Signing up is free too, and the BongaCash FAQ says members don't need a credit card to register. The sources don't settle whether you can watch without an account: Wikipedia says all site visitors can join chat rooms, but cites no source.
How paying works
Chaturbate. Viewers buy tokens by credit card and spend them on tips and private shows. Wikipedia, citing a 2018 study, puts the cost at about USD 0.10 per token, depending on package size. That's an approximate rate, not an official price list, and the sources don't give private show rates.
BongaCams. Members buy Tokens, and each model sets per-minute prices within limits set by the platform. The defaults in the BongaModels model FAQ are:
- Group chat: 30 Tokens per minute (allowed range 10 to 150)
- Private chat: 60 Tokens per minute (30 to 250)
- Full-private chat: 90 Tokens per minute (30 to 300), with no spy viewers allowed
- Spy mode: 15 Tokens per minute (5 to 80), watch only, no chatting
A private chat ends automatically when the member runs out of Tokens. The BongaModels news page has announced time-limited Token discounts, such as 15% off the most popular Token packages on 10 and 11 October 2026, but no source lists package prices.
Whichever site you use, set a budget before buying tokens: per-minute shows add up quickly.
Shows and features
Chaturbate streams live webcam performances by individual models and couples. Apart from free viewing, tips, private shows and tip-activated toys, the sources don't describe other show formats.
BongaCams features webcam models, couples and male performers, according to Wikipedia, and the BongaModels model FAQ documents more:
- Group, private and full-private chats, plus spy mode
- Tips, tip menus, chatbots and virtual gifts credited in Tokens
- Paid "Sex Questionnaire" questions (default 20 Tokens)
- Photo albums and videos that models sell for Tokens, including recordings of their own streams
- Notifications when a model you follow goes online
- A member camera that performers can view (who can use it and what it costs aren't stated)
- For performers, a built-in translator for member messages in the model console
The official BongaModels mobile app is for performers to stream from their phones, not a viewer app.
Interactive toys and VR
Chaturbate. Wikipedia says models can connect remote-controlled vibrators and other toys that react when viewers tip, with the intensity reportedly depending on the tip. Wikipedia names no brand, but Lovense's official cam-model page lists Chaturbate among its integrated cam sites.
BongaCams. Lovense is supported, and Lovense lists BongaCams among its integrated cam sites too. Models streaming from the BongaModels mobile app connect through the Lovense Connect app and the "Sex Toy" chatbot, which adds a Lovense icon to their stream preview; desktop streamers can use the Lovense browser extension. A BongaModels news post dated 13 October 2026 says members can now see the list of vibrations and send Tokens with one tap.
VR. The sources used here don't cover VR for either site.
Which one should you choose?
There's no single winner; it depends on how you watch.
- Choose Chaturbate if you mainly want free viewing without registering, with a tip or a private show now and then.
- Choose BongaCams if you want paid formats with documented default per-minute rates (models set their own within platform limits): group, private and full-private chat, plus spy mode. The BongaModels model FAQ also mentions a member camera. The Chaturbate sources used here don't say whether Chaturbate offers similar options.
- Either works for tip-controlled toys.
Where CamVela fits
CamVela is a free directory of live cam streams for adults (18+), launched in 2026. It has no performers of its own: streams come from third-party providers, and CamVela lists their public live streams in one place. It doesn't replace a cam platform; it's a free way to see what's live.
- Free, no account. Watching public streams is free and needs no account. There's nothing to buy on CamVela itself: no tokens, credits or subscriptions.
- Chat with a nickname, again without an account.
- Detailed filters. Categories include Solo, Couples, Girl-Girl, Trans, HD, New, Lovense and VR, with filters for tags, country, spoken language and age range, plus sorting.
- Eight languages: English, Turkish, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese and Russian.
- Stored in your browser. Favorites and watch history stay in your own browser.
- Live previews refresh about every 30 seconds, and a list shows streams that ended in the last 24 hours.
- 18+ check first, before any content is shown.
