18+ notice: This article is about adult websites and is intended only for readers aged 18 or over.
Chaturbate has been streaming live webcam shows since 2011, and its basic deal is easy to understand: you can watch for free, and you only spend money if you want to tip a performer or go private. Other live cam sites work on a similar idea, but what's free, what needs an account and what costs money can differ quite a bit from one site to the next.
This guide looks at four sites like Chaturbate and sticks to what public sources say: what you can watch without paying, whether you need to sign up, and what the paid features are. There are no star ratings or made-up user numbers here, and every claim about the other sites is backed by a source listed at the end.
Chaturbate at a glance
- What it is: an adult (18+) website that streams live webcam performances by individual models and couples.
- Launched: 26 February 2011, according to Wikipedia.
- Based in: the United States. Wikipedia gives the headquarters as Irvine, California.
- Free viewing: registration is optional, and viewers can watch for free, except for private shows. Separately from sign-up, Chaturbate may ask some visitors to verify their age first: Wikipedia reports that it put an online age verification system in place after a 2024 Texas lawsuit.
- How paying works: viewers buy tokens by credit card and spend them on tips and private shows, and they can tip to request certain acts. Wikipedia puts the cost at about USD 0.10 per token, depending on package size. That's an approximate rate, not an official price list.
- Interactive toys: models can connect remote-controlled vibrators and other toys that react when viewers tip, with the intensity reportedly depending on the size of the tip.
- Languages: Wikipedia says the site is available in 15 languages.
In short: free to watch, with tokens for tips and private shows. That's the reference point for this list.
How to choose a free cam site
"Free" means different things on different live cam sites. A few questions help:
- What exactly is free? Public rooms are often free while private or group shows are paid, and some sites limit what happens in the free area.
- Do you need an account? Some sites let you watch as a guest; others ask you to sign up first.
- How does paying work? Tokens and credits are the usual currencies. Paying per minute, per tip or by subscription changes how quickly money goes.
- Interactive toys. If tip-controlled toys matter to you, check which brands are supported.
- Filters. Category, tag, language and country filters save a lot of scrolling.
- Language. An interface in your own language makes everything easier.
- What's stored about you. Do favourites and history live in an account on a server, or only in your browser?
1. CamVela
CamVela is a free directory of live cam streams for adults (18+), launched in 2026. It's worth being clear about what that means: CamVela has no performers of its own. Streams come from third-party providers, and CamVela lists their public live streams in one place so you can browse and filter them.
What's free on CamVela
- Watching public streams is free and needs no account.
- Chat with a nickname. You can join the chat under a nickname, again without an account.
- Detailed filters. You can browse by category (Solo, Couples, Girl-Girl, Trans, HD, New, Lovense and VR), narrow things down by tags, country, spoken language and age range, and then sort the results. A few direct links: Lovense, VR, Couples and HD.
- Live previews. Previews on the visible cards refresh about every 30 seconds, so you can see what's happening before opening a room.
- Recently ended streams. A list shows streams that ended in the last 24 hours, which is handy if you just missed someone.
- Favourites and history stay with you. Your favourites and watch history are kept in your own browser, not in an account.
- Eight languages. The interface is available in Turkish, English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese and Russian.
- 18+ check first. You confirm that you're 18 or over before any content is shown.
What costs money on CamVela
Nothing. There's nothing to buy on CamVela itself. Tokens, private shows and other paid extras are run by the providers' own platforms under their own terms, not sold by CamVela.
A good fit if you want to browse free public streams without signing up, filter them in detail and keep your favourites in your own browser.
2. Stripchat
Wikipedia describes Stripchat as a Cyprus-based adult website and social network with free live-streamed webcam performances, offered as traditional, virtual reality and mobile broadcasts. Wikipedia gives its launch date as 3 May 2016, and Reuters describes Stripchat as a subsidiary of Cyprus's Technius.
What's free on Stripchat
- Free live streams. Wikipedia describes Stripchat's live-streamed webcam performances as free to watch.
What costs money on Stripchat
- Tokens. Stripchat runs on tokens. Viewers buy token packages to tip performers and to pay for private shows and other paid content.
- A note on free tokens. Wikipedia mentions that Stripchat gave free tokens to new users in 2020. That was a 2020 offer, so don't assume it still applies.
VR and interactive toys
According to Wikipedia, Stripchat started VR cam shows in 2019. They play in a headset's web browser through WebXR, for example Meta Quest Browser or Safari on Apple Vision Pro, at vr.stripchat.com, with no separate app. On the toy side, Lovense's official cam-model page lists Stripchat among its integrated cam sites, so Lovense tip-activated toys work there.
A good fit if you want VR without installing an app.
3. BongaCams
BongaCams is an adult (18+) live webcam streaming platform with content from webcam models, couples and camboys. The official BongaModels homepage gives 2012 as its founding year, and Wikipedia dates the launch to 25 January 2012. The BongaModels performer agreement names BNC Technology and Advertising Ltd, based in Nicosia, Cyprus, as the website operator for bongamodels.com.
What's free on BongaCams
- Public chat rooms. The public chat is free. The official model FAQ explains that performers earn in public chat only when members tip.
- Free sign-up, no card. Creating an account is free, and the BongaCash FAQ says members don't need a credit card to register.
What costs money on BongaCams
The paid show formats (group, private, full-private and spy) use Tokens. Each model sets per-minute prices within limits set by the platform. The defaults listed in the model FAQ are:
- Group chat: 30 tokens per minute (allowed range 10 to 150)
- Private chat: 60 tokens per minute (30 to 250)
- Full-private chat: 90 tokens per minute (30 to 300), with no spy viewers allowed
- Spy mode: 15 tokens per minute (5 to 80), watch only, no chatting
A private chat ends automatically when the member runs out of Tokens. Other paid extras include tips and tip menus, virtual gifts, paid questions in the "Sex Questionnaire" feature, and photo albums and videos that models sell for Tokens. Rooms can also use chatbots, and members can get a notification when a model they follow goes online.
Interactive toys and cam2cam
Lovense is supported on BongaCams streams, through the Lovense Connect app, a browser extension and the Lovense Tip Menu. Members can also turn on their own camera, and performers have a button to view it. The pages we checked don't say which members can use this or whether it costs anything.
A good fit if you like clearly defined show types with documented default per-minute rates.
4. LiveJasmin
LiveJasmin is the oldest site on this list. It was founded in 2001 in Hungary by György Gattyán and launched as Jasmin.hu. A decision by the Luxembourg regulator ALIA (DEC024/2025) names JWS Americas S.à r.l. and JWS International S.à r.l., both in Luxembourg, as the companies running it, and describes it as an adult live-webcam platform where explicit content and direct interaction require purchased credits.
What's free on LiveJasmin
- Free Chat. The official model wiki describes Free Chat as the main public space, where anyone, including unregistered guests, can watch a performer for free.
- But it's non-nude. Free Chat is non-nude, and explicit content sits behind the paywall.
What costs money on LiveJasmin
LiveJasmin uses credits. You spend them on:
- Private shows, charged per minute at a rate each performer sets. Performers can offer invitation discounts and five-minute "Hot Deal" discounts.
- Two-way audio, which performers can charge for per minute in credits (they can also offer it free).
- VIP shows, group shows with a credit goal set by the performer. The minimum buy-in is 1 credit with newbie models and 3 credits with others, and shows run 5 to 15 minutes.
- Fan Club, a monthly subscription to a single performer, charged every 30 days. The tiers are Bronze (4.99 credits), Silver (24.99), Gold (39.99) and Diamond (79.99).
- My Content, premium photo albums and videos priced individually from 3 to 100 credits.
- Interactive toys. Lovense and Kiiroo models are supported. Members can control a toy in real time for an extra fee, or send credits to trigger vibration patterns.
Other features
The official wiki also lists Cam2Cam, voice and video calls, Messenger, Stories, Truth or Dare, Battles, Surprises (tips), Real Gifts and Awards. Sneak Peek lets members look into a performer's stream for 25 seconds. Recording private shows is neither possible nor allowed. The wiki has no VR entry, and while performers can stream from their phones, it doesn't document a viewer app for iOS or Android.
A good fit if a non-nude free area is fine and you want a wide range of paid, interactive features.
Comparison at a glance
| Site | Founded | Free viewing | Account to watch | Paid features | Interactive toys |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| CamVela | 2026 | Yes, public streams | Not needed | Nothing to buy on CamVela | Lovense filter |
| Stripchat | 2016 | Yes, free live streams | — | Tokens (tips, private shows, paid content) | Yes (Lovense integration) |
| Chaturbate | 2011 | Yes, except private shows | Not needed (registration optional) | Tokens (tips, private shows) | Yes (tip-activated toys) |
| BongaCams | 2012 | Yes, public chat rooms | — | Tokens (private, group, spy shows) | Yes (Lovense) |
| LiveJasmin | 2001 | Free Chat is free but non-nude | Not needed (Free Chat) | Credits (private shows, VIP shows, Fan Club) | Yes (Lovense, Kiiroo) |
A few things stand out:
- Every site lets you watch something for free, but "free" isn't the same everywhere. Chaturbate's free viewing covers everything except private shows, while LiveJasmin's Free Chat is non-nude.
- CamVela is the only one with nothing to buy, because it's a directory of third-party streams rather than a platform with its own performers.
- The other four all support interactive toys. On CamVela, Lovense is a category you can filter by.
Privacy and safety tips
Whichever free cam sites you use, a few general habits help:
- Use a separate email address for adult sites.
- Keep personal details to yourself. Don't share your real name, address, workplace or social media in chat, however friendly it feels.
- Use a unique password for every site.
- Set a budget before buying tokens or credits. Per-minute pricing adds up quickly.
- Think twice before turning on your own camera. Cam2cam shows your face and your surroundings.
- Be careful on shared devices. Anything kept in your browser, such as your CamVela favourites and history, is visible to anyone using the same browser profile.
- Be wary of "free token" offers from unofficial sources.
Frequently asked questions
Are there free sites like Chaturbate?
Yes. All four alternatives in this guide let you watch something for free. CamVela, Stripchat and BongaCams have free public streams or chat rooms, and LiveJasmin has a free, non-nude Free Chat. On the platforms with their own performers, private shows and extras cost tokens or credits.
Can I watch without creating an account?
On CamVela, yes: watching public streams and chatting with a nickname need no account. Chaturbate makes registration optional for free viewing, and LiveJasmin's Free Chat is open to unregistered guests. On BongaCams, signing up is free and doesn't need a credit card. For Stripchat, check the site itself, because the sources we used don't cover this point.
Which alternatives work with interactive toys?
All four sites with their own performers do. Stripchat and BongaCams support Lovense, LiveJasmin supports Lovense and Kiiroo, and Chaturbate has tip-activated toys. On CamVela you can browse the Lovense category.
Which of these sites offer VR cams?
Stripchat runs VR cam shows in a headset's web browser through WebXR, with no separate app. CamVela has a VR category among its filters. LiveJasmin's official wiki has no VR entry, and the sources we used don't cover VR for Chaturbate or BongaCams.
Does CamVela have its own models?
No. CamVela has no performers of its own. Streams come from third-party providers, and CamVela lists their public live streams and lets you filter them.
Conclusion
There are several sites like Chaturbate, and none is free in quite the same way. Stripchat is notable for browser-based VR, BongaCams for clearly defined show types and documented default rates, and LiveJasmin for a broad set of paid features alongside a non-nude Free Chat. If you simply want to browse public live streams for free, without an account and with detailed filters, CamVela is built for exactly that. Whatever you choose, set your budget and privacy habits before you start.
