Fortunately, Canon EF lenses are the best ones you can ever get to make your videos look more professional. You can find a wide variety of lenses at many different price points, depending on what you will be using them for or what type of camera body you have.

1. Canon EF-S 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 IS STM Lens

Features

  • Brand: Canon
  • Lens Type: Wide Angle
  • Compatible Mountings: Canon EF-S
  • Camera Lens Description: 18 Millimeters
  • Maximum Focal Length: 18 Millimeters

The EF-S 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 IS STM Lens from Canon is an ultra-wide zoom lens designed specifically for EOS APS C cameras. It provides a 35mm focal length equivalence of 16-28.8mm, making it an ideal lens for landscapes and other wide format photography.

Optical Image Stabilization helps to minimize the appearance of camera shake by up to 4 stops for sharper imagery when shooting handheld with slower shutter speeds. This stabilization system also preserves the use of slower shutter speeds for intentionally blurring movement in your images in low light situations and also has a panning detection mode that disengages stabilization in either vertical or horizontal directions for smoother panning shots.

A high-speed CPU and improved AF algorithm enable high-speed AF performance and ensure that this lens is both fast and accurate, regardless of the situation. A circular 7 blade aperture produces beautiful, soft backgrounds and a stepping motor (lead screw-type STM) supports the Movie Servo AF feature in Canon’s EOS Rebel T4i DSLR camera, which offers smooth and quiet continuous AF during video shooting.

2. Rokinon Cine CV35-C 35mm T1.5 Aspherical Wide Angle Cine Lens

The Rokinon Cine CV35-C features a de-clicked aperture ring, an aperture range of T/1.5 to T/22, and a manual focus design. To achieve excellent image quality in video production, it is essential to have a fast lens with an excellent optical performance and low distortion that can deliver sharp images at close focus distances.

Rokinon provides just such a lens in their popular 35mm fixed focal length range with the Rokinon CV35-C; and even though this isn’t their most popular lens (the 35mm f/1.4 is still one of their best sellers), it’s one of my favorite lenses for both video and photography because it delivers sharp, high contrast images at close distances and f/1.5.

While the optical design is brilliant, the real reason this lens continues to sell so well is its price: $350 street price. At that price point, it’s comparable to most of the other high-quality manual focus lenses on the market.
